Webinar Behavioral Health in Schools

The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) has behavioral health services available to Arizona students in K-12 institutions. Discussion of services for Medicaid eligible students as well other funding available in Arizona for students to receive services. Further knowledge provided regarding Mitch Warnock Act for suicide prevention, Open Care (also known as Medicaid school-based claiming) and crisis services, which are available to all in Arizona.
Presenter: Ernest Sunjo
Ernest Sunjo holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in social work from the University of North Dakota and has worked for the state of Arizona for 14 years. His career includes working with Arizona Department of Economic Security and State Hospital, in which assistance and counseling were provided for those in behavioral health. Ernest currently works for AHCCCS as the State Mental Health Authority and Project AWARE Coordinator. His drive is to promote delivery of comprehensive cost-effective health care to Arizonans in need and to facilitate referral pathways to behavioral health services for all youths and families.
Established in 1994, the Arizona Rural Health Association, Inc. (AzRHA) serves as an independent organization after serving as the Advisory Committee of the Arizona Center for Rural Health for many years.
